Lewis Max Konecne, 73, of Omaha, Neb., was born Dec. 3, 1916, at Corning, the son of Ora and Grace Branan Konecne and died June 19, 1990, at his home.
He lived in Adams County until moving to Lovilia,
Iowa, in 1948. In 1965 he moved to Omaha where he was employed in the maintenance department at Creighton University until his retirement.
He was a member of the Fairview Christian Church. He was an avid boater and horse racing enthusiast. He was awarded the Purple Heart and four Bronze Stars while serving in the European Theater during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. He is survived by three children, Ron Konecne of Hopkins, Mo., Chris Konecne of Redding, Calif., and Gale (Mrs. Terry) Dunkin of Bloomfield; and eight grandchildren.
Services were held June 23 at the Roland-Lindsay Chapel with the Rev. Howard Wells officiating. Casketbearers were members of the family. Burial was in the Prairie Rose Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Fairview Christian Church.
