Mabel Marie Fudge Keesler, the daughter of Henry E. and Alice Jenny Weech Fudge, was born Feb. 10, 1907 at Taylor County, Iowa, and entered into rest Dec. 14, 1983 at the Greater Community Hospital, Creston, Iowa, at the age of 76 years, 10 months and 4 days.
She was united in marriage with Louis Milo Keesler March 16. 1932 at Omaha. Neb. One son, Dean Louis Keesler, was born to bless this union.
Mrs. Keesler was an active member of the Carl United Methodist Church and the U.M.W. for as long as her health permitted. She enjoyed helping others and was well known for her beautiful wedding cakes she baked and decorated. She also enjoyed needlework and knitting. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1982.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her son, Dean Keesler; three brothers, Joseph, Bennie, and Everett Fudge and four sisters, Elizabeth Hardisty, Kathy Homan, Mary Sprague, and Janette Konecne.
Survivors include her husband, Louis Keesler of Carl, Iowa, a daughter-in-law, Mary Keesler of Corning; two grandsons, Rich Keesler of Prescott and William Keesler of Corning; two step-grandchildren, Tina Knowles of Corning and Charles C. Knowles, Jr. of Nebo, Mo.; two brothers, Albert Fudge and wife Ruby of Corning and Clyde Fudge and wife Virgie of Boulder, Colo.; a brother-in-law, Lee Hardisty of Corning and a sister-in-law, Laura Fudge of Brooks; nieces and nephews and many friends.
Funeral services were held at the Gauthier Funeral Home in Corning Dec. 17 at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Steve Williams officiating. Interment was in the Carl Cemetery, Carl, Iowa
Organ music was provided by Kathy Schafer. Casket bearers were Robert Cox, Boyd Fudge, Joe Konecne, Paul Hardisty, Martin Pearson, and Edward Chappell.
