ANTISDEL, MEANS, DAVIS, BILDERBACK

Cecil I. Antisdel, 78, of Creston, died April 6, 1987, at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines after suffering a heart attack March 28. He was born in Carl Township, Adams County, Iowa August 23, 1908. He was the third child of Arthur and Addie Davis Antisdel. Cecil grew to manhood on the same farm where he was born and where he learned the art of farming.
On March 14, 1931, he was united in marriage with Violet Means over radio station KFNF. They began their married life living on the Adams County line. In 1933, they moved near Bridgewater and lived the next nine years in Adair County. In 1942 they moved to Adams County and were
residents there until 1984 when they moved to Creston. Their two children were born in Adair County. Cecil was always a farmer and he took pride in every field he tilled. For several years he stripped bluegrass, having his own drying yard. After retiring from farming, he worked for seven years for the Adams County Conservation Board at Lake Icaria. He was a member of the Adams County Posse for several years. After moving to Creston, he enjoyed many leisure hours of fishing with friends and taking care of his garden.
Cecil and Violet celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in l98l.
Survivors are-his loving wife Violet; his son, Larry and wife Virginia of Fort Collins, Colo.; a daughter, Lamona and husband Byron Bilderback of Creston; five grandchildren, Jeanne and husband Rick Piel, Patti and husband Mike Kralik, David Antisdel and wife Kim, Sherran and Allison Bilderback; four great-grandchildren, Caleb and Cole Kralik and Christopher and Casee Piel; four sisters, Leah Johnston of Creston, Cleo Campbell of Creston, Doris Gippie of Bridgewater and Evelyn Martin of Fontanelle; two sisters-in-law, Lola Antisdel of Bridgewater and Georgia Antisdel of Orient; and his father-in-law, Harrison Means of Corning.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers. Dean, Claude and Glen.
Services were held at the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield April 10 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Donald Wright of Creston officiating. Interment was in the Graceland Cemetery, Creston. Music was provided by Mrs. Alice Hogan, organist, and guitarist and vocalist, Kevin Dobreff. The floral committee was Messrs. Nadine Ahnen, Doris Drake, Betty Woodside and Milree Kissler. Pallbearers were Bob Drake, John Schrader, Clyde Woodside, Dale Burich, Hubert Kissler
and George Williamson. Honorary bearers were Mike Ryan, Calvin Bauer, Ralph Harvey, Verle Wynn, Brown Ahnen, Wayne Miller. Harold Davis, Frank Frederick and Randy McPherren.
