Dorothy Myrle Bixler, 96, was born in Adams County and died August 12, 1993, at the Good Samaritan in Dowling Park,Florida. Services were held August 16 ,at the Bixler Memorial Village Church in Dowling Park, the Revs. Ron Thomas and Pomeroy Carter officiating. Burial was in the Bixler Memorial Gardens West in Dowling Park. Mrs. Bixler lived in Winfield, Kansas, 28 years where she was a registeed nurse specializing in the operating room. Later she became administator of the William Newton Memorial Hospital in Winfield. After retiring she began arts and crafts. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women, Seroptimist Club, fair auxiliary, honorary member of Army Mother's Club, hospital auxiliary, American College of Hospital Administration and the American Nursing Association. She also was a member of Bixler Memorial Church. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Vera Bixler of Dowling Park.
