Cassius (Cash) M. Kapple was born November 13, 1874 in Page County, near Hepburn and died May 27, 1946 at the age of 71 years and 6 months at his home in Nodaway. He was the son of Solomon and Margaret Kapple. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, three brothers and one sister. Surviving are one sister, Anna of Nodaway, and one brother, Charles residing in Taylor County and several nieces and nephews.
He never married. When he was a lad of 15, his father was stricken blind and helpless and he took care of the family and paid off all the debts. He has lived in this community all his life and was a member Mount Zion Presbyterian Church.
