Margaret Elizabeth Green was born in the state of New York, December 23, 1840. When five years of age she came with her parents to Illinois and settled near Galesburg, where she grew to maturity. In 1863 she was united in marriage to Solomon Kapple. In 1869 they came to Iowa which has since been their home, with the exception of one year spent in Kansas, the present Kapple home, near Nodaway, has been their residence for 41 years. The husband passed away 30 years ago. Four children have preceded the mother to the great beyond. The three living children are Anna, Cassius, and Charles. There are also six grandchildren. The deceased lady has been a member of the Mt. Zion Church for the past 27 years. She passed to her reward Tuesday morning, April 22, 1924, aged 83 years, 3 months, and 20 days.
The funeral services were held from Mt. Zion Church Thursday afternoon conducted by Rev. W. C. McClelland and Rev. Mr. Overholser. Interment was made in the Methodist Grove Cemetery.
