Charles Theodore Kapple, son of Solomon and Margaret Green Kapple, was born in Montgomery County, Iowa on August 16, 1879 and passed away October 10, 1963 at the age of 84 years, 1 month, and 24 days.
He was united in marriage to Lillian Bell Gustine on December 5, 1906. To this union four children were born, Bernice Smith of Villisca, Faye Insley of Mishawaka, Indiana, Roy of Omaha, Nebraska, and Arthur of Corning.
Lillian preceded him in death July 30, 1940. On August 11, 1943 he was married to Charlotte Durfey. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
Surviving are his wife, 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren; two step sons and one step daughter, ten step-grandchildren, two nephews, and a host of friends.
He was a member of the Methodist Church of Iveyville, and attended as long as his health permitted. He spent his entire life farming and resided at the same place for the last 55 years.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 12 at 2 p.m. from the Roland Funeral Home in Corning with Rev. Brown Garlock officiating. Music was by Mrs. Brown Garlock and Mrs. Joe Cook. Flowerbearers were Mary Johnson and Dorothy Walters. Pall bearers were Robert Smith, Eugene Smith, Richard Kapple, Dale Smith, Cleo Smith, and Terry Kapple. Interment was in the Methodist Grove Cemetery.
