Jessie May Cozad Kapple

Chas. Kapple and Jessie Cozad were married last Sunday at the residence of the officiating clergyman, Rev. A. Y. Cupp. The young people will commence housekeeping on the Allen Taylor farm east of Nodaway.

Word was received Saturday of the death of Mrs. Chas. Kapple at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cozad, near Carbon. She went to visit her parents, April 13, and in a few days took sick with malaria fever. She fell asleep in Jesus, May 2. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kapple have been married but a couple of months, and have been living on Mrs. Taylor's farm east of town. Her death has been a shock to her many friends. The bereaved husband and relatives have the sympathy of many friends.

Mrs. C. T. Kapple died Saturday, May 2, 1903, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Cozad, of Douglas township of congestion of the stomach caused from typhoid fever, aged twenty-six years The funeral was held Monday at 2 o'clock p. m. at the M.E. church at Carbon conducted by Rev. A. Y. Cupp. Interment was made at Oakland cemetery at Quincy. Jessie May Cozad was born near Carbon, Adams County, Iowa in 1877 and has spent her life in that vicinity. On February 22 (1903) of the present year she was united in marriage to Charlie T. Kapple by the minister who conducted her funeral services. Her death is particularly a sad one. Besides her husband she leaves to mourn her loss, her parents, two brothers and two sisters, The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the bereaved relatives.
