C. to John Schuyler and Jane Gordon, and was aged 86 years, 10 months and 14 days. She resided there until her marriage to George Bowers in 1844, in November. Eight children were born to them, six of whom are living. They are Mrs. Mary Dorsett of Schuyler County, Illinois, Mrs. Agnes White and Mrs. George Lacock residing near Villisca, J. H. In 1904 Mr. and Mrs. Bowers celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary pleasure few are permitted to enjoy. They came to this county back in 1806 and settled on the old place and where their children were born and reared to manhood and womanhood and where the husband and father died. Mrs. Bowers had gone to Villisca just a week preceding her death when she contracted pneumonia which resulted in her death. She was a good Christian woman, a kind neighbor and a grand mother and many will remember Mrs. Bowers with loving thoughts.
