James Thelbert Harlow, son of Isaac and Lucretia Walton Harlow was born near Brooks, Iowa, August 13, 1888, and passed away at his home in Corning, Iowa, December 30, 1976, at the age of 88 years, 4 months, and 17 days.
He had spent his entire life in Adams County. Farming was his occupation.
He was united in marriage to Ruby Lawrence February 13, 1910 and they would have celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary this February.
To this union two daughters were born: Mrs. Frank (Doris) Davis of Corning and Mrs. J. H. (Darlene) McGrath of Bloomington, Illinois.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby, who is in the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Corning, his two daughters, Doris and Darlene; 4 grandchildren, Dean and Robert Davis, and Michael and Stephanie McGrath; 4 great-grandchildren, Douglas, Dan, Janis, and Jason Davis; also by nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, William, Jess, and Joseph, and 2 sisters, Myrtle Ford and Mable Lawrence
Funeral services were held at the Larkin-Roland Funeral Home in Corning, Monday, January 3 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. James King officiating. Burial was in the Brooks Cemetery.
Music was provided by Donna Peckham. Pallbearers were Rolly Spring, Kenneth Bunting, Morris McPherren, Henry Heaton, Allen Heaton, and Clifford O'Dell.
