Charlotte Enarson, 90, Villisca, was born to Charles and Nancy Darrah Arthur on Jan. 23, 1907. She died April 20 1997 at Villisca Good Samaritan Center in Villisca.
The family lived on a farm north of Brooks until she was nine years old when they moved to Corning and bought the big old brick house which the family simply called "The Corning House "
The piano was the focal part of her life. She began playing bv ear as a very young girl and when she was about 13 she was playing for the silent movies in Corning. She also would sing with her sisters on the radio at the Shenandoah stations.
In 1933 she was married to Don Enarson and moved to Villisca where they raised a family of three, Tom, Elaine and Karen.
Mrs Enarson was a 50-year member of the Villisca Methodist Church and was a loyal Iowa Hawkeye fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter Karen; and 10 sisters. b
She is survived by her son Tom (wife Susie) Enarson. Villisca daughter Elaine (husband Gary} Gillespie of Glenwood; son-in-law Ed Ginger, Northbrook, III.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister Adelyne Johnson of Corning; and sisters in-law Lenore Enarson, Villisca, and Florence Langbehn, Tucson Ariz.
Funeral services were held April 23 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Villisca with the Rev. Clark Finehout officiating. Burial was in the Arlington Cemetery near Villisca.
