David Christopher Sterling, 77, of Champaign, Illinois, passed away February 13, 1974 at the Veterans Hospital in Danville, Illinois, after undergoing surgery the week previous.
Mr. Sterling was born in Pennsylvania and lived in Kansas as a boy. He spent most of his life in Adams County, Iowa. He had living in Champaign since the late 1940's. He farmed in Adams County, but had been a carpenter in Champaign. He was retired.
Survivors include his wife, Zelma Sterling. He is also survived by four children by his first marriage with Lillian Mary Riley, Ivan of Afton, Mrs. Don (Maxine) Boyd of Creston, Mrs. Jean (Berniece) Brown of Corning, and Mrs. Sam (Betty) Lundhigh of Des Moines, two sisters, Mrs. Lloyd west of Corning and Mrs. Florence Thompson of Modesto, California; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one grandchild.
Funeral services were held at the Owens Funeral Home in Champaign, Saturday, February 16, at 2 p.m, Burial was in Grandview Memorial Gardens near Champaign, Illinois.
