Earl (Fritz) Townsend, of Corning, died Wednesday morning, July 6, 1966 at the Rosary Hospital. Funeral services will be Saturday afternoon at 1:30 at the Roland Funeral Home, with Joe Cook officiating. Burial will be in the Prairie Rose Cemetery.

Earl Vincent (Fritz) Townsendm son of James and Mina Brentnall Townsend was born September 20, 1907 at Corning, and passed away July 6, at Rosary Hospital at the age of 58 years.
He worked for the Burlington Railroad 24 years before ill health forced him to retire. He was united in marriage to Thelma Sutton March 20, 1928.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma, three sons, Charles and Raymond of Denver Colorado, and Harold of Earlham, Iowa; three daughters, Norma (Mrs. Wallace Maddy) of Eddyville, Iowa; Eleanor (Mrs. Dick Sheffield) of Bedford, Iowa; Roberta (Mrs. Russell Steele) of Corning, Three daughter-in-law, three sons-in-law, two sisters, Mrs. Grace Schaub, Corning and Mrs. Dorothy Corey of Shenandoah; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Helen Townsend and twenty one grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by both parents, one brother, Frank, and two sisters, who died in infancy.
Funeral services were held from the Roland Funeral Home in Corning, Iowa, Saturday afternoon at 1:30, conducted by Joe Cook. Interement was in Prairie Rose Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lloyd Leonard, Charles Stalder, Gary Leusink, Gail Ogburn, Dave Evans, and James Castilio.
