EDWARD B. HARD1STY
Edward Bryan Hardisty, the son of Solomon Lee and Lettia Jane Walton Hardisty, was born April 6, 1899 in Adams County near Quincy, Iowa, and passed away August 8. 1982 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Corning, Iowa, at the age of 83 years. 4 months and 2 days.
He was united in marriage to Maggie May Burgett in Corning, Iowa. July 20, 1919. Mrs. Hardisty passed away Nov 15, 1939
Survivors include two sons, Russell of Afton and Glenn Hardisty of Prescott, Iowa; three daughters, Mrs. Clark (Wilma) Peterson of Corning, Ia., Mr. Wayne (Wanda) Victor of Prescott, Ia., and Mr. Dean (Donna) Adams of Omaha, Neb.; 24 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Harrison (Rosie) Means of Corning and Mr. Ruby Powell of Creston, Ia.; a brother, Lee Hardisty of Corning; and Mrs. Jabe (Goldie) Means of Afton, a niece, who was reared by the family as a sister.
Besides his wife, Mr. Hardiaty was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, three brothers, six sisters and a son-in-law.
Mr. Hardisty had lived his entire life in Adams County and was a farmer.
Funeral services were held at the Goodwin-Lindsay Funeral Home in Corning August 11 at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Jeanne Groom officiating. Interment was in Oakland Cemetery at Quincy.
Organ music was provided by Kathy Schafer. Active pallbearers were Glenn, Eugene and Randy Hardisty, Douglas Peterson, Robert Blazek and Richard Adams. Honorary pallbearers were Wayne, Lyle, Earl and Terry Hardity, Fred Victor and Rodney and Edward Adams.
A memorial has bean established to the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Corning.
