Estey Blazer Hefling was born to Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Blazer April 2, 1897 at Ida Grove, Iowa and entered into rest at the Rosary Hospital in Corning, Iowa, March 24, 1984 at the age of 86 years, 11 months, and 22 days.
She was united in marriage with Harold H. Hefling June 14, 1916 at Glenwood, Iowa.
With the exception of five years spent in California and Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she lived her entire life in Iowa in Adams and Mills Counties.
When 12 years of age, she became a member of the Brooks Methodist Church and worked faithfully in its service as long as her health permitted her to do so, having been Sunday School superintendent for 30 years and W.S.C.S. Spiritual Life secretary for many years.
She taught in Adams County Public Schools for 20 years where she made many lasting friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, George and Ellen Blazer and her husband, Harold Hefling.
She is survived by an aunt in San Jose, California and several cousins in Arizona, Indiana, and Cedar County, Iowa, and many friends and former students on whose lives she must assuredly left a mark.
Funeral services were held at the Gauthier Funeral Home in Corning, March 26, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jack Singleton officiating. Interment was in the Brooks Cemetery, Brooks, Iowa.
Music was furnished by Erma Fuller, organist, and Lee West, vocalist. Pallbearers were Jack, Dale, and James Amder, Henry Heaton, David Fuller, and Clifford Palmer.
