Elizabeth Viretta Erip was born in Mercer County, Missouri, Jan.1,1845 and died Nov.30,1910. She moved with her parents to Ohio in 1846 and later moved to Iowa in 1855. She was married to Hiram Kent June 16,1863. To this union 6 children were born, Calar F.Bagenstos who lives near Brooklin, Ia.; Mary A James who died at Glidden, Ia.; Noah B. Kent who lives near Clearfield, Ia.; Laura I.Kent who died at Brooklin, Ia.; Cornellis A.Kent who died at Brooklin, Ia.; Clinton O.Kent who died at Brooklin, Ia.
In early life she united with the United Brethern Church and remained a christian theremainder of her life, she was a loving wife and a kind and loving mother and always tried to do good for all about her. She leaves to mourn her loss a husband, 1 daughter, 1 son, 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; 1 brother and a host of friends. Having lived in this community so many years and being so well and so favorably known, it is fitting that her remains should be brought back here to rest among her friends and besid her 3 children who sleep in this Cemetery.
The funeral service was conducted by the Rev.F.C.Edwards of the M.E.Church and the body was interred in the Kent Cemetery.
