Helen Emma Louise Jacobson 90, passed away Sept.15,2004 at Spurgeon Manor in Dallas Center.
She was born June 25,1914 to William Fred and Marie [Giel]Rohner in Prussia Township Adair County.
Helen grew up in Fontanelle attending all 12 years of school there graduating from Fontanelle High School.
She was baptized in infancy and confirmed April 17,1927 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle.
Helen taught school for 2 years in the rural community.
On June 3,1934 she was united in marriage to Ernest Ehrenfried. to this union 3 children were born Vyon Jacquline, Ted Richard and Joyce Jeree. They made their home on a farm in Summerset Township which they later purchased. After Ernest passed away she and her 2 children moved to a new home in Fontanelle.
Helen attended Creston Junior College part time to renew her teaching certificate and then taught in rural schools another 3 years.
On Jan.19,1952 she was united in marriage to Fred Jacobson. They moved to the farm in 1957. She loved the outdoor life and all the farm animals. They lived on the farm until 1990 when they moved to Greenfield. She also enjoyed crafts, flowers, building things, her family, friends and always had busy hands.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter Vyon Jacquline and her husbands Ernest and Fred.
She is survived by her 2 children Ted Ehrenfried and wife Doris of Newport News, Va., and Joyce Mulhern and husband Dallas of Adel; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother Ivan Rohner and wife Phyllis of Fontanelle; other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held at the Fontanelle Cemetery Sunday Sept.19 with Shawn Engelding officiating.
Music was the congregational hymn "What A Friend We Have In Jesus".
Pallbearers were Troy and Trae Engeldinger, Brett and Scott Campbell, Jimmy and Jim Long.
Steen Funeral Homes provided professional services.
