Zachary "Zach" Grant Ridler, 18, passed away Tuesday Sept.14,2004 at his home following a yearlong battle with a brain tumor.
Zach was born Nov.11,1985 the 1st son of Brain and Rita [Lappe] Ridler. He attended Lil Sprouts Preschool in Woodward from 1990-1991 and Assumption Catholic School from kindergarden through 8th grade. He was a class of 2000 graduate from Assumption School and then attended Woodward Granger High School, graduating with the class of 2004. Favorite classes in school included Creative writing and Computer Graphics. He also enjoyed working on class projects and spending time with friends.
Being a strong athletic and competitive child, Zach began wrestling with the Beaver Creek Wrestling Club and playing Little League baseball at the age of 7. In junior high and high school, he participated in football, basketball, track, and baseball.
He was an active member of Assumption Youth Group.
Zach enjoyed watching the television programs, Trading Spaces and While You Were Out, Michael Moore movies and collecting retro memorabilia. Most important to Zach were his family and friends. They meant a great deal to him and their care, visits and prayers helped to sustain him through his illness.
He is joined into eternal life with his grandfather, Arthur Lappe and great-grandparents Homer and Thelma Ridler.
Left with loving memories of Zach are his parents Brian and Rita Ridler of Woodward; 2 brothers Jacob and Nicholas both of Woodward; grandparents Mildred [Lappe]Wiediger of Independence, Joy Councilman of Boone and Lloyd Ridler of Osage Beach, Mo.,formally of Greenfield; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral Mass was held Friday Sept.17 at Assumption Catholic Church in Granger. Burial followed at Beaver Catholic Cemetery rural Granger.
