Virginia M.Kuesel 70, of Massena, passed away at Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic Sept.28,2004.
Virginia May Kuesel was born April 30,1934 to Albert and Amanda [Tibken] Schmidt in Cass County.
Virginia graduated from Massena High School in 1952. She was an outstanding basketball player in high school.
On June 5,1955 she was united in marriage to George Kuesel at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in rural Wiota. To this union 4 daughters were born, Shirley, Debbie, Sharon and Carol. They lived on the same farm near Massena all of their married life.
Virginia enjoyed being a homemaker, bookkeeper for the family farm, gardening, being outside and especially loved being with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughte Sharon at birth; and brother Varel Schmidt.
She is survived by her husband George of Massena; 3 daughters Shirley Blaine and fiance Alan Brown of Massena; Debbie Bowman and husband Doug of Corning and Carol Van Bemmel and husband Rick of Massena; brother Virgil Schmidt of Atlantic; sisterVerlea Drefke and husband Gary of Norfolk, Neb.;5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at Steen Funeral Home in Massena Friday Oct. 1, 2004 with the Rev.Nancy Jensen officiating.
Music tributes were recorded selections of "Go Rest High On That Mountain" and "What A Friend I Have In Jesus".
Pallbearers were Doug,and Joshua Bowman, Rick Van Bemmel, Alan Brown, Bryan Watts, Christopher and Jacob Blaine.
Interment was in Victoria Cemetery Massena
