Myrtle Leona Jones was born Jan.3,1895 in Lee Twnship of Adair County to Robert J.and Jennie Frizell Reed. She died at the Greenfield Manor in Greenfield Dec.1,1986. She was 91 years of age.

Myrtle married Edgar Olen Jones March 8,1922 at Creston. To this union 1 child Robert was born. She taught school for a number of years and then attended Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls and after college she taught at the Zion Consolidated School. With her husband they lived on their farm until 1963 when they moved to Greenfield.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Greenfield and belonged to the Ladies Circle and was active in the Rural Improvement Club.

Funeral services in her memory were held at the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield Friday Dec. 5,1986, Rev.Wayne Norris officiating. AliceHogan provided organ music for Mr. and Mrs.Wayne Ray, volalists, who sang "Sunrise Tomorrow" and "How Great Thou Art".

The pallbearers were Heny Hager, Duane Martin, Dick Kuhl, David Eblen, Albert Kreis and William Fagan. Interment was in the Greenfield Cemetery.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband Ed; and her parents. She is survived by her son Robert O.Jones of Creston; 1 grandson; 2 step grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
