Arthur M.Fils, 85, of rural Creston, died July 29,2004, at Greater Community Hospital in Creston.

Arthur Melvin Fils, son of Eula Hazel [Osbel] and Arthur Henry Fils, was born March 17,1919, in Spaulding Township of Union County.

On March 2,1940, Arthur married Adeline M.Jisa in rural Adair County. He lived and farmed in Spaulding Township all of his married life.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Adeline Fils; son Jack A. and wife Joyce and daughter Dixie and husband Scott Moore all of Creston; 3 granddaughters, Melody and husband Ken Moore of Flower Mound, Tx., Jeanine and husband Gene Pallai of Richland, Mo. and Peggy and husband Steven Maynes of DeSoto; 2 great-grandsons, Austin Moore and Calvin Maynes; 1 great-granddaughter Jamie Moore; 1 step-great-grandson Michael Pallai and 1 step-great-granddaughter Mackenzie Maynes; several cousins.

Services were held Monday Aug.2, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston.

Interment was at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Spaulding Township, north of Creston.
