Ben Bakerink son of Henry and Ora Kester Bakerink was born on a farm near Fontanelle, Iowa on Aug.2,1879 and passed away in Clarinda, Iowa Aug.11,1958 at the age of 79 years, and 9 days.

Mr. Bakerink grew to manhood and lived in this vicinity all his life.

He chose farming for his occupation and farmed up until his health forced him to quit.

He was united in marriage to Miss Myrtle Skilinger and in later years he was married to Alice Schwanebeck. They had 1 daughjter Mrs. Earl Lydon of Wellman, Iowa.

Mr. Bakerink was a patient for the past 3 1/2 years. He was cared for by expert doctors and nurses and received the best of care.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant brother.

He is survived by his daughter Mrs.Earl Lydon; 4 brothers Clyde of North Platte, Neb.; Glen of Denver, Colorado; Rex of Creston, Iowa; and Ralph of Marshalltown, Iowa; also 4 sisters Mrs. Blanche Daugherty and Mrs.Florance Frank both of Fontanelle, Iowa; Mrs. Cressie Diers of Kent, Iowa and Mrs.Sybil Kirlin who lives in California; nieces and nephews and many friends.

Burial was in the Fontanelle Cemetery. Relatives from a distance attending were Mrs.Earl Lydon of Washington, IA.
