Marie Frances Sackett was born January 8, 1916 to Glen R. and Fay (Schwab) Faber in Richland Township, Adair County, Iowa. She passed away December 18, 2002 at the Greenfield Manor in Greenfield, Iowa at the age of 86.

Marie graduated from Greenfield High School with the class of 1935. On February 22, 1950 she was united in marriage to Donald J. Sackett in Barrington, Illinois. There were the parents of two children, John and Kathy. Marie and Don lived on a farm near Greenfield and in 1974 they moved into the town of Greenfield.

Marie was a member of the Greenfield United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed helping others, playing cards and was known for her homemade noodles. She especially loved being with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother John; a sister Helen and her husband Donald in 2000.

She is survived by a son John Sackett and wife Tarra of Brookings, South Dakota; a daughter Kathy Sackett of Hanford, California; two granddaughters, Dawn Sackett and Hilary Wald and husband Jeff; one great grandson Carter Wald; brothers, Merlin Faber and wife Helen of Creston and Melvin "Sam" Faber and his wife Alice of Greenfield; a sister Dorothy Rude and husband Ernest of Portland, Oregon; other relatives and friends.

The family of Marie Sackett wishes to express their gratitude for all the acts of kindness shown to them in their time of sorrow and invite you to share in a lunch at the Greenfield United Methodist Church following services at the (Greenfield) cemetery.
