HERRICK, PELLOM, TILBURY O’CONNER, SINNER, OLBINGER

Albert H. Herrick was born in Madison, Wis., June 4, 1858 and died at his home in Greenfield, Iowa, March 3, 1932, at the age of 73 years, 9 months and 2 days.

When but a child he came with is parents to Palo Alto county, Iowa and spent more than forty years of his life in this state. On September 30 1896, he was united in marriage to Mary L. Oblinger, but in less than a year death claimed his bride. On December 6, 1899, he married Sarah L. Pellom, who has shared joys and cares with him for more than 32 years. For a few years they resided on a farm near Cherokee, Iowa, where he united with the Baptist church and also the I. O. O. F. lodge No 158. After a few years they went to South Dakota, and from there to the state of Wisconsin, and then to St. Louis, Mo. and about five years ago came to Greenfield to spend the rest of their days. They transferred their church membership to the Methodist Episcopal church in Greenfield and those who knew him know how well he enjoyed to worship and have fellowship in his church.

He has been in poor health for the last fifteen years and sometimes longed to be released from his suffering though patient through it all. He was not considered seriously ill only for a couple of days before the end came. He selected the hymns for use in this service which bespeaks his faith.

He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, two brother, the Rev. G. T. Herrick, of Bridgewater, and Walter Herrick south of Fontanelle and one sister, Mrs. Florence Hull, Augusta, MO.. besides a host of other relatives and friends. Three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services were conducted by his pastor, the Rev. W. Frank Lister in the church at 2:30 Friday afternoon, March 11, 1932. The quartet composed of Mrs. Elmer Piper, Mrs. Griswold, Frank Rhodes, and P. L. Bickford sang, "Going Down the Valley," "No Night There," and "Some Tune We'll Understand."

Funeral services for Albert Herrick were held Friday afternoon, 2:30 , at the Methodist church, W. Frank Lister conducted the service.
