At Rest

Miss Amanda Elizabeth Groves was born in Campaign county, Ohio, in 1856, and died in Greenfield, Ia., Sept. 7th, 1904, at 2:45 p.m. at the home of her mother.

At the age of ten years she removed with her parents to Adair county, Ia., where she resided until 1900, when she removed to Winterset, Madison county, Ia. In 1877 she was united in marriage to Henry N. Arnold and to this union were born five children—four girls and one boy, Gertrude Loisa, Lucy Lillian, Clarence Oscar, Cleo Vashita and Daisy Marie. Besides her husband and children she leaves a mother, eight brothers and two sisters. The funeral was held at the M. E. church in Greenfield, on Friday Sept. 9th, conducted by Rev. Conrad, and she was laid to her last rest in the Greenfield cemetery. The Winterset friends with those of their old home extend their heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family.
