Shirley Ann Jontz of Clinton, Missouri passed away Friday, December 28, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri.

Born September 20, 1929 to George W. and Bernice (Dwigans) Porter in Adair County, Iowa, she graduated from Stuart High School in 1947 and attended AIB Business College in Des Moines, Iowa.

On May 26, 1951, Shirley was united in marriage to the love of her life, Bob Jontz, at Jefferson Center Methodist Church south of Stuart, Iowa. Two sons blessed this union: Gregg and Brad. She and Bob operated the Bob Jontz Insurance Agency in Stuart until retiring in 1985. She and Bob moved to Rogers, AR in 1988 and resided there for three years. In 1992 they embraced Clinton, MO as their new home and quickly developed many cherished friendships and treasured memories.

Shirley was a member of the Clinton United Methodist Church, Stephen Ministries and PEO Chapter EN. She was active in several bridge clubs, was involved in many church activities and served on various boards and committees over the years. She enjoyed dancing, playing bridge, trips to Branson, MO, and simply spending time with Bob. Shirley was a devoted wife, Mom and Gramma-taking great pleasure and pride in her children and grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband and dance partner, Bob.

Among those remembering and celebrating her life are sons: Gregg, wife Lori and their children Courtney, Erin and Michael of West Des Moines, IA; Brad of Las Vegas, NV; and many relatives and friends.

Funeral services wil be 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at the Clinton United Methodist Church. Family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be Thursday, January 3, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the South Oak Cemetery, Stuart, Iowa. Arrangements under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests memorials be made to either the Clinton United Methodist Church or St. Luke's Foundation in Kansas City.
