From the Adair County Free Press, January 23, 1970 “Obituary Della Irene Welch: Della Irene Welch was born Feb 21, 1922 in Adair County, and passed away January 17, 1970 at Crest Haven Nursing Home, Creston, Iowa. Her parents were Filmore and Martha Harris. Mrs. Welch lived in Adair County until 1934 moving then to Madison County near Earlham, where she lived to Lorimor, Iowa in Union County where she resided until her death. She and Henry Welch were united in marriage January 30, 1924. Mrs. Welch is survived by her husband Henry and four children, three sons and one daughter: Donald Welch at Winterset, Howard at Greenfield, Dale at Winterset, Irene Huston, Texas and 11 grandchildren. Mrs. Welch is survived by one brother Howard Harris, Creston, along with a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Walter. She was baptized at the age of 12 at Fairview Church Adair County. Mrs. Welch was a member of the friendly Circle Neighborhood Club at Lorimor, Iowa.”
