The Schwab family farm was leased for three years, then Oscar brought his bride, Hannah McFee, to live and keep this farm in the family

Oscar was born May 28, 1872, at the homestead where he started another generation on the family farm. Hannah was born in Petersborough, Ontario, Canada, on September 12, 1879. To this union four children were born: Leland, December 31, 1901; Warren, June 7,1907; John, May 15, 1910; and Lois, October 22, 1914. Leland and John passed away at birth.

Farming was the way of life for this family, and Oscar, like his father, Alexander, was a good steward of the land and took real interest in caring for the livestock and homesteading. Farming was not only his living, it was also his hobby; he enjoyed what he was doing. Hannah had come from Canada and settled around the Lenox and Kent area. She came to Adair County often to help her sister with her family. Oscar and Hannah met at youth activities at Penn Avenue Church.

Hannah was always busy in the community, working at the church and helping care for the sick in the area. Hannah also spent a lot of time teaching Sunday School at the Penn Avenue Church. She was a good Bible student, spent much time reading and studying and also kept wonderful diaries. Oscar and Hannah were very good neighbors.

Oscar and Hannah built a new home in 1927, and a few years later they retired to Greenfield in 1933. Oscar passed away in January 1949, and Hannah in June 1966.
