Mrs. Elizabeth Heiden died at her home at 9:30 Wednesday evening, Jan. 02, 1946 at the age of 77 years 11 months and two days.

She was born Jan. 24 1868 in Weisenstadt, Bavaria, Germany, the daughter of David and Margaret Schoepf. Her family came to the United States when she was about two years old and settled in Clayton Center, Iowa, for a few years. They then lived on two farms in Boardman township, one of which they bought as a permanent home.

In 1893, Elizabeth Schoepf was married to Fred L. Heiden and moved to Osborne, Iowa, where Mr. Heiden was engaged in the hardware and lumber business.

About 1902 they moved to Elkader where Mr. Heiden again established a hardware business and where Mrs. Heiden lived until the time of her death.

She is survived by three daughters, Leah and Annamae of Elkader Mildred, Mrs. Elmer J. Meyer of Garnavillo; one brother Charles Schoepf of Elkader and two grandchildren, Dean and Nancy Meyer.

Her husband, one sister and two brothers preceded her in death.

She was confirmed in the Evangelical and Reformed church of Elkader and was a member of the Women's Guild.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:15 at the home and 2:30 at the Evangelical and Reformed church with the Rev. Paul Kitterer officiating. Burial was made in the East Side cemetery.

Pall bearers were Henry Benschneider, Louis Stallbaum, Henry Lenth, George Bente, John Downie and Gus Sabbann.
