Life story of
Henry A. Schmitz, 78

Henry Adam Schmitz was born in Westphalia, IA. Nov 15, 1883, the son of Josephine Kirchoff and William Schmitz. He died Thursday, March 29 March 1962 at St. Joseph's hospital in Omaha, Nebr., at the age of 78 years, 4 months and 14 days.

He was united in marriage to Mary Kramer May 2, 1911 at Earling, Ia. To this union 9 children were born. A daughter, Mary Jane, preceded him in death. Following their marriage they farmed. At the time of his death they were living on Rural Rt 2, Harlan.

Henry was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Westphalia. He was also a member of K. of C. 174, Earling and the Holy Name Society.

Surviving are his wife, Mary, his children, Mrs Isadore (Stella) Wingert, Portsmouth, Mrs Lillian Blum, Council Bluffs, Laura Schmitz, Wausau Wisc., Vigil, Omaha, Mrs Ed (Alice) Kwapiszeski, Panama, Mrs John (Eileen) Schrader, Seattle, Wash., and Mrs Mark (Naomi) Gross, Defiance. Also 2 brothers, Joseph A. Schmitz, Westphalia and Dr Wm. H. Schmitz, Omaha, 1 sister, Mrs George (Ann) Langenfeld, Westphalia, 26 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his daughter, he was preceded in death by brothers John M and Tony J and 1 sister Marie.

the Rev. H. A. Duren was celebrant of the Solemn Requiem High Mass at St. Boniface church, Westphalia. Monday April 2, the Rev A. W. ______ was deacon; the Rev. Ralph Goeser, sub-deacon and Orlin Wingert, master of ceremonies. Burial was in St. Boniface cemetery, Westphalia.

Pallbearers were Jack Kramer, Harold Muell, Zeno Schmitz, Norman Kramer, Linus Langenfeld and Alphonse Schmitz.
