Woodland Cemetery, originally called Fort Des Moines Cemetery, is the oldest
cemetery in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa. It was established in 1948,
and is owned and operated by the Des Moines Parks & Recreation Department.
Overall, it covers 69 acres and contains over 80,000 graves. You can read more
