Fanslers
Fanslers is located North of Guthrie Center and South of Springbrook State Park on P18 in Victory twp. Fanslers was a coalmining town where the first coalmine was opened in 1874 and the last mine closed in 1950. Fanslers post office was instituted on 2nd of July 1883 and Nelson T. Coons was appointed postmaster. (from Past and Present of Guthrie County, Iowa) In May of 1959 a tornado took most of the town leaving a few homes.
