The Scott Morgan Family

Scott Morgan came to Clarke Co., Iowa from Edgar County, Illinois, with his parents in 1854 at the age of 12 years. They settled on a farm near Hopeville, being one of the first settlers in Clarke County.

After serving in the 5th Missouri Cavalry in the Civil War, he was married to Inga Belle Arnold of Schuyler County, Missouri.

They were the parents of 6 children, Mrs. Oscar Lawrence, L. A. (Bill) Morgan,

Mrs. E. F. Perdue, Mrs. Ervin German, C. Fred Morgan, and Mrs. E. G. Smith. Of these children only Mrs. Smith is living and lives at Creston, Iowa at the age of 87.

Mr. C. Fred Morgan was a very well known man, the founder of Square Deal Ins. Co. of Des Moines, which his son Merle Morgan and grandson Fred Morgan are now President and Agency Supervisor.
