Henry Burgus was one of twin sons born to Charles & Elizabeth Ries Burgus on November 5, 1872, near Murray, Iowa. He was a member of a family of fourteen children. He was married to Laura Dick on October 20, 1894. Two sons were born to them, Ralph who died in infancy and Herbert. They farmed most of their lives until retirement to Murray. Herbert married Lora Stierwalt Oct. 5,1921. They were the parents of three sons, Curtis, Rex Junior, and Gene, all of whom reside in the Murray community. Herbert passed away in 1941. Since then Lora has raised her family and taught school for several years. She lives in Murray. Both Henry and Laura Burgus are deceased. |
