Digital Images

Online digitized images of the Iowa state censuses are available at the following locations:

"" FamilySearch.org - This is a free research site. 1885, 1895 & 1925 Iowa State Census images are available as well as other Iowa indexes and records. Federal Census images and indexes are also available.

The State Historical Society of Iowa through interlibrary loan.
Heritage Archives Inc (once called Heritage Microfilm) used to carry census microfilm to purchase. They have discontinued this, but perhaps may be able to direct you elsewhere if they are still in existence!
 
The Iowa Genealogical Society has microfilm to view, as well as several state census publications for sale, as do many of the genealogical societies in Iowa. These publications cannot be transcribed, since most—if not all—are not photo-reproductions of the original censuses, but are already full transcriptions or indexes.
