JAMES A. SORENSON was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. He emigrated to America during his youth and became experienced in retailing building materials. He was an efficient business manager and transferred from Harlan to Marne in 1903 and operated the Green Bay Lumber Company here from 1903 until his retirement about the year 1938. This lumber yard was located on the southeast corner of Washington and Main Streets adjoining the Rock Island railroad tracks.
