GEORGE J. PELLETT was born in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, on July 7, 1846. His family moved to Wisconsin in 1853, where George remained until 1870, when he relocated in Brighton Township, Cass County, Iowa. He purchased 160 acres of land and improved it, later raising carriage and race horses. He married Lydia Wheatley in 1867 and she died in 1872, leaving three childred [sic children] - Ida, Walter, and Mary. He remarried in 1875 to Mary A. Mott and the couple had four children - Olive, Laura, William and Ada.
