WILLIAM GRODT came to Marne in 1880 and operated a livery stable and acted as drayman until his death in 1898. He was married twice - first to Dorothea, then Elizabeth. William Grodt was the father of nine children - Emma, Gustav, William, Frederick, Dora, Meta, Bertha, John, and Martha.
