HENRY GORDON was born in Jefferson County, Wisconsin, on October 1840. He married Emily Coats on November 13, 1861, and the couple moved to Iowa County, Iowa in 1863. The Gordons moved to Cass County in 1876 and purchased the 160 acres of the northwest quarter of Section 26, south of Gerhard Goeken's homestead. The Gordons had two children, William and Etta.
