T. M. CROWNER was born in Richland County, Ohio, on October 29, 1831. He was raised in Ohio until age twenty-three, when he moved to Griggsville, Illinois, where he married Mary Halferty in 1854. This family lived in various counties of Illinois, then in Cedar County, Iowa for a short time, before moving to Cass County. In October, 1878, Mr. Crowner purchased a 175-acre farm on the southeast quarter of Section 27 of Brighton Township, now known as the Scybert farm.
