GEORGE W. CROUCH was born in Campbell County, Virginia, on June 1, 1931. He married Mary Blankinshift in Virginia in 1853, and the couple had four children - Alice, Roland, Charles, and Sarah. The family moved to Indiana in 1854 and to Cass County in 1863, where George Crouch paid $13.00 per acre for land in Section 24, three miles east of Marne. Mary Crouch passed away here and he remarried in 1870 to Mary Johnson.
