MARION A. BUTLER was born in Randolph County, Indiana, and was the son of Edward and Mary Butler, who were natives of Virginia. Marion's brother, Robert B. Butler, moved from Indiana to Pymosa Township in 1863, and his parents and family moved to Indiana in 1869. Edward and Mary Butler, the parents, settled on Sections 7 and 18 of Pymosa Township and Marion A. Butler settled on a farm on Sections 7 and 18 of Brighton Township. This farm was two miles north and one-and-a-half miles west of Marne.
