The town was incorporated in the spring of 1884. Joseph TURNER was the first mayor. The postoffice was established there in 1873. Oliver COOMES being the first postmaster. The town contains 218 people according to the census of 1900. Although not the largest town in the county, Wiota is by no means behind in the race for business.
