He moved in 1885 into the building now owned and occupied by him. He has been a member of the School Board and the City Council and is at present a member of the Library Board and a director in the Atlantic National Bank. He is a Mason and a Woodman. He has always been in the van of the progressive business men and citizens and has contributed to every worthy undertaking. MOELLER, where he remained as clerk until 1886, and the following year was employed by the old dry goods firm of STAFFORD & HAWKS. The same year he went into the grocery business with W. B. MARTIN. In 1889 A. L. DUNN was taken in as a member of the firm. In 1904 the firm of STIER, MARTIN, & DUNN dissolved and the business was continued by Mr. STIER.
