I see that someone did tell an enumerator that J L King was born in Iowa and that would have been in 1825 or about that time but that would be too early for Wright County. I've tried to check King listings in early Iowa censuses for him without luck. I have not checked Family Search yet. J.L. King was a stonecutter in Austin, Texas, very early. The reader should see family trees on Ancestry, at least one of which has a story about work that he did on an historical building there. He apparently died in Austin in 1865 and his widow Mary Jane remarried. See Find A Grave.
