I located an obituary for William Clifford in the Carroll newspaper.
Coon Rapids -- Wm. C. Clifford passed away last Wednesday morning after a year's illness of cancer. He was 78 years old and was an early settler in Audubon county and owned a farm near Viola Center on which he lived until about ten years ago when he moved here. He was treated at Manning about a year ago for his affliction, also at Savannah, Mo., and Rochester, Minn. He leaves to mourn his departure, a wife, three children, and four grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the M. E. church Friday at 2 o'clock by Rev. Clayburg and interment was made in our local cemetery.
