Funeral services for Severt Nervig, 82, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Evangelical Lutheran church in charge of Pastor H. W. Schiller. Mr. Nervig, well known Troy Township farmer, has been in failing health for several months and died suddenly Sunday evening in his car enroute home from a visit at the home of his sister-in-law Mrs. M. O. Thompson south-west of town. His son Jerry was driving and his daughter Margaret was also in the car.

Mr. Nervig, Jerry and Margaret moved from the farm to the house they purchased at 402 No. Lincoln Ave. last August.

He is also survived by a son Arthur Nervig at Lafayette, Colo., three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Other survivors are four brothers Peter of LaCenter, Wash., Ole and Martin of Eagle Grove, Amos of Ft. Dodge and one sister Mrs. Thos. Anfinson of Clarinda.

Mr. Nervig was born Jan. 12, 1883 at Eagle Grove. He was married to Martha Larson on March 27th, 1907 and she died in 1961 He farmed in Troy township and was Troy Township assessor for 30 years.

Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.
