Funeral services were held Saturday, June 25th, for Hans J. Stueland who died June 23rd at his home at Clarksfield, Minn. He was a brother of Erick and Lars Stueland of this city.

Obituary

Hans J. Stueland was born October 21, 1873, at Hardanger, Norway, and passed away June 23, 1948 at the age of 74 years, 8 months, and 2 days. He received the Christian baptism and Christian instruction and confessed his Christian Faith at confirmation in the Lutheran church at Kvindhard, by Pastor Unger.

In 1891 he, came with his parents to the United States of America and settled at Elliott, Illinois. Four years later he moved to Thor, Iowa where he was married to Minnie Mickelson, October 23, 1898. To this union nine children were born. They lived in Iowa until in 1913, when they moved to Boyd, Minn., and three years later they moved to their present location, on a farm east of Clarkfield, Minn.

Mr. Stueland is survived by his wife, and six sons, viz: Arthur of Clarkfield, Clifford of Aurora, Minn., Harold of East Moline, Ill., Earl of Granite Falls, Minn., Edwin of Dubuque, Ia., and Richard at home. Also, by two daughters, Mrs. Henry Oxtra (Ruby) of Granite Falls, Minn., and Mrs. Harlan Kruger (Evelyn) of Clarkfield. A son Ruben preceded him in death at the age of four years. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and three brothers. Rev. Andrew Stueland of Toronto, S. D„ Erick and Lars of Eagle Grove, also by three sisters, Mrs. Anna McCabe of Omaha, Neb., Mrs. Jennie Otrem of Omaha, Neb., and Mrs. George Leckington of Waterloo, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 26, at Clarkfield, Minn., and the body was brought to Eagle Grove where services were held Monday, June 28. Burial was made in the Rose Hill cemetery.
