OBITUARY

Lizabeth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Halfpap, was born in the state of New Jersey on March 29, 1875 and passed away Sunday morning, October 26, 1947 at the Iowa State University hospital, at that time being 72 years, 6 months, and 27 days of age.

While very young she moved, with her parents, from New Jersey to a farm home near Pekin, Illinois. There she spent her girlhood attending school and helping with the work about the farm home.

On June 22, 1898 she was united in marriage to William Waak. To this union one son and one daughter were born. The son, Fred, passed away in 1943, and the daughter survives along with her husband, William Waak.

Besides these she is survived by four brothers and two sisters, Charley and Fred Halfpap of Goodell, Roy of Kanawha and John of Belmond, Mrs. Virgie Larson of Webster City and Mrs. Ruth Bier of Meservey, besides a number of nieces and nephews, and other relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Waak spent much of their married life on farms, for a number of years farming near Meservey. During the year of 1940, the family moved to Eagle Grove and have resided here since.

About a year ago, Mrs. Waak joined the local Methodist church by transfer of letter from the Methodist church at Green Valley, Ill.

Mrs. Waak was a good wife and mother, industrious and friendly. She will be missed by her friends and relatives.

Services were held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock at Wilson's Chapel with Rev. H. G. Dawes officiating, with burial in Rose Hill cemetery at Eagle Grove, Iowa.
