Warren O. Blackman
4 January 1881 ---- 21 October 1946

Engineer W. O. Blackman, 65, died at his home Monday morning about 7 o'clock a.m. He had been ill since Saturday. He came in from his run Friday, apparently feeling all right. He was stricken with a heart attack Saturday morning and was thought to be responding to treatment in a satisfactory manner. He had another attack Monday which was fatal.

Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon at the Methodist church with the Rev. O. W. Tompkins officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill cemetery.

The widow and four children survive, Russell and Warren, Eagle Grove; Evert, Elgin, Illinois; and Bernard, Kalona; and Evelyn of San Francisco. All of the children are here.

Mr. Blackman went to work for the Northwestern railroad as fireman, Nov. 14, 1902. He was promoted to engineer on October 20, 1907. He has been a resident of Eagle Grove for 45 years.
